With sexy smokey artwork gracing the cover, or iTunes thumbnail as it were, we're very proud and happy and more than a little amped to share this first piece of our album with you all! Hope you enjoy.
Well, in the last couple of weeks Jess and I have been spreading the Verses word far and wide (sounding a little evangelical now ain't I? Well, I AM quite excited!)… We were in lovely ALMOST sunny QLD, popping in on some radio peeps and making new friends. A big shout out to Dan and all at 98.9 NIRS, an awesome indigenous run radio station, we did a couple of songs live in the studio there.
As you might have seen on the Facebook page we also visited Toasted TV, which was very funny, silly, crazy..! They wanted me to make up a song on the spot (well, almost..) using words of the viewers choice, including 'Fart', 'Rumble', 'Barn' and 'Disinfectant' I think it was...!? Hmmm, some Interesting results! Thank god for the twelve bar blues, I say… makes ANYTHING sound like a semi-passable song!
Also we've been doing loads of press, magazines etc. so keep an eye out for some print love for The Verses around the place soon. I am a co-cover girl of Cream magazine this month and there was a little 'in the studio' piece in Rolling Stone… Lots more coming soon. We have some beautiful new shots I can't wait for peeps to see too. Very moody. Very Seasons. ;)
Back in M.Town Jesse, Mads and I performed Want Everything and album track (and one of my faves) Midnight, at The Sacred Heart Missions 'Heart Of St.Kilda' benefit concert at the gorgeous old Palais Theatre… It's always a treat to play there, we love it. It’s so atmospheric and what a great cause too.
It was a who's who of good Australian music backstage and onstage.. We even had the gorgeous and angel voiced CLAIRE BOWDITCH come up and sing the outtro of Want Everything with us!!!

(But, in the dressing room, it was "My Hottttt Rangaaa....!" ;) In honor of Jess and Claire and Julia Gillard! Hah hah.. )
Also some fave crew floating around were Rebecca Barnard, Tex and his gents, The Even boys (who were the house band for the night, and wow, they did an amazing job!) Paris Wells, brought the house down with her Gossip cover… all in all a great night and we raised ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!! ---CHA CHING!!!---
What else?
We've had chats with and played the single for ABC Tassie and Darwin, actually the dj from Tassie was my opponent in RocKwiz when I was there just a couple of weeks ago doing the RocKwiz Live tour. He was very good, knew his stuff! A worthy opponent... indeed... (But… I still won ;)
In coming news we're popping into Triple RRR Melbourne this Saturday and are going to be on air with Brian Wise! We're really big fans of his, this dude really knows his music, he has tons of great bands come through. I get a lot of hot tips on artists from his show… and it's going to be a buzz to be on the show.
Well, I'll write more as more happens!
But for now, the single is out and the album is coming! Yay! Tell your friends, your fam, your goldfish, to go to iTunes and check it out! Hehe..
